Richard Liu’s Exclusive Biography

Richard Liu Qiangdong is JD.com’s founder, CEO, and chairman. Liu’s native home was a rural village endowed with great poverty. Qiangdong was committed to run this venture honestly throughout its existence.

Therefore, it has grown from a tiny to become the best retail venture globally, revenue-wise. In 2019, JD.com managed an annual income of approximately $82.9 billion, and this overall net worth grew tremendously.

Liu was featured as an Honoree in Variety 500 entitled, “JD.com Richard Liu; Founder / Chairman / CEO”, as a result of his persistence, innovation, and hard work. During his free time, the billionaire loves to either spend time with his family or volunteering at Red Cross.

This accomplishment did not overwhelm him because he was enlisted by Fortune magazine. JD.com invested in technological resources like drones, big data, and AI. Richard Liu’s vision for the company still breaks the traditional retail mold as well as e-commerce ventures while observing customer trust and loyalty.

Richard Liu’s origin village was called Chang’an found in the Chinese province of Jiangsu. Richard’s family had to resettle when communism emerged in the 1940s. Before his family’s evolution, they were wealthy shipowners who had dominated the transport industry along R. Yangtze that ran from Beijing to Hangzhou.

Liu Qiangdong did not find wealth because he was born when his parents were farmers and scuffling to afford basic life. They even lived with his grandparents who together helped to raise him.

Born in the 1970s, Liu’s village did not have the basic modern facilities like electricity, roads, and running water that were present in other regions. The village also lacked nutritious food, and at a given period in a year, they could access corn that they stretched to make corn pancakes, porridge, dry cornbread among other meals. However, these meals were tough to the extent of damaging throats.

The other times, the family relied on sweet potato from where other foodstuffs would be derived. On completing secondary school education, Richard Liu applied to join universities based in Beijing and Shanghai because he thought these cities would be a perfect cornerstone to achieve more.
